Coapsys® & iCoapsys™ Devices

The Coapsys and iCoapsys devices are designed to deliver the only complete, less-invasive reshaping therapy for functional mitral regurgitation and left ventricular dysfunction.  The Coapsys device can be implanted surgically and the iCoapsys device can be implanted through a percutaneous, catheter based approach.

Both the Coapsys and iCoapsys devices are permanently implanted, and  both devices are configured with two epicardial pads connected by a flexible  chord.

The Coapsys and iCoapsy devices are implanted so the two pads are located on the surface of the heart with the chord passing across the left ventricle. The posterior pad of each device has a superior (top) and inferior (bottom) head. During the implant procedure, the pads are pulled towards each other to decrease the distance between the mitral valve leaflets and reshape the left ventricle.

The Coapsys and iCoapsys devices are designed to provide the same Reshaping therapy via different delivery approaches.  The goals of the Reshaping therapy are to provide a less invasive option to:

  • Reduce functional mitral regurgitation and
  • Improve cardiac function by reshaping the left ventricle
